Lin et al. analyze actin-mediated processes with and without Crn1, and conclude that there is virtually no phenotype upon loss of Crn1 in actin-mediated processes, nor inhibition of cofilin recruitment to actin patches (see also the study by Ghandi et al. (2009, PMID: 19450534). Furthermore, they address the in vivo relevance of the bursting activity described for cofilin, coronin and Aip1 in the turnover of actin patches (Kueh et al.
